To find out more about the tour, click on each of the questions below to view the answers

  1. What does the tour cover?
For information on exactly where the tour goes, and what type of information is included, visit the What the Tour Covers page.
  2. How does the tour work?
It's very simple and easy to use. The complete tour is contained on 3 audio CDs.

If you want to explore the whole of Tasmania, you can simply pop the first CD into your car's CD player and follow the suggested route. The tour commences in Devonport and travels around Tasmania in a clockwise direction. The tour finishes back at Devonport where you can catch the ferry home.

However, if you just want to focus on a particular region, the choice is entirely yours. If you fly over and arrive at Launceston or Hobart, that's fine. You can simply start the tour from that location ... or any other location for that matter.

Before you arrive at a town, simply jump to that track and hear what there is to see and do in that town.
  3. How will I remember everything I hear on the CDs?
There's no need to remember or take notes while you're listening to your CDs. The CD set comes with a Touring Companion book that summarises everything contained on the CDs. This A5 sized book is conveniently packaged and bound to fit easily and snugly into your glove box ... ready to be referred to at a moment's notice.

Whenever you stop the car to take a closer look at something of interest, simply grab your book from the glove box and find out instantly what there is to see and do. You'll find yourself referring to this handbook time and time again as your journey unfolds.
  4. Do I have to do the whole tour?
Do as little, or as much of the tour as YOU like ... the choice is YOURS.

Flexibility, that's what this tour offers you. You won't be tied down to a fixed schedule.

Let's say you have a few weeks to spare, then you may want to do the complete tour and see all that Tasmania has to offer.

If your holiday is shorter, or maybe you've seen parts of the state before, well then you simply focus on the regions you want to explore. Easy!

What this means is you can start the tour wherever you like.

The suggested tour starts in Devonport ... this is where you'll most likely arrive with your car on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry.

However, if you fly over and arrive at Launceston or Hobart, that's okay too. You can simply start the tour from that location ... or any other location for that matter.

Perhaps for this trip you have 10 days and can only explore one region. That's fine .... next trip you can cover a different region.
  5. Can I get this tour on audio cassettes instead?
No - the tour is only available on CD. It has been specifically designed to enable you to move easily from track to track as you select which town or part of the tour is of interest to you. Cassettes would not enable you to quickly jump to the town you want, and would require constant fast forwarding and rewinding.
  6. So what if I don't have a CD player in my car?
No problem - you don't need to have a built-in CD unit in your car. You can simply take a hand-held CD player from home and use batteries. Or alternatively you can purchase a portable CD player from any department or hi-fi store. A portable CD player can be purchased with a special attachment which has a cassette tape at the end. This tape is simply inserted into your car's cassette player.
  7. Does the package come with a guarantee?
